Friends of Mellor Parks

Work in the Mellor War Memorial Gardens continues with twice monthly working parties meeting on the second Saturday 10am - 12 noon and the fourth Tuesday 1.30 - 3.30 pm. Apart from general maintenance, we are now concentrating our efforts on improving the long border adjacent to Old Hall Lane.

Other good news is that a new gate and archway has been installed to the entrance on Park Side just in time for the Remembrance Sunday Service.

The Friends of Mellor Parks hope to have an opening ceremony for it in 2010.

This gate was requested by the Society and jointly funded by the Mellor Society (20%) and the Marple Area Committee of SMBC (80%).
